In my initial response (above) I was looking at the larger NO2 signals near Gladstone and Rockhampton, SE of Moranbah.mcpicketthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07699060840866360212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7117623826811744532.post-33932133466343855112020-06-22T07:57:45.330+10:002020-06-22T07:57:45.330+10:00Hi Gabriel, while the orange plume shown in the im...Hi Gabriel, while the orange plume shown in the image at top is highly visible, the blast is a short event, the emissions would disperse to low levels quite rapidly, and a lot of the NO2 would be soaked up by ambient ozone. I think it's more likely the stronger NO2 signal shown in Sentinel-5P image, between Gladstone and 1770, would be due to the larger emissions from Gladstone Power Station. Other smaller amounts of NO2 visible in the image are probably due to road traffic in the Rockhampton and Gladstone urban areas.

Note: I work as an air quality consultant, but I have no current clients in Queensland.mcpicketthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07699060840866360212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7117623826811744532.post-9214418894058818992019-05-20T02:52:42.315+10:002019-05-20T02:52:42.315+10:00wow, awesome post.Really looking forward to read m...wow, awesome post.Really looking forward to read more. This is being driven by (1) false science stating that this is "green" renewable energy, (2) bogus emission accounting that allows power companies to report zero emissions for all their reliance on wood pellets, and (3) huge government subsidies in the UK being paid to power companies to burn wood pellets.

Here in North Carolina most all of the wood pellets are being manufactured from hardwood forests, including some old growth ones and ones in wetlands. These hardwood forests are very slow to regenerate and the loss of biodiversity by this clear-cut logging is massive. Our Facebook page includes many papers by climate change scientists, air quality specialists and naturalists. https://www.facebook.com/woodpelletsnc/Jack Spruillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00251777948818794490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7117623826811744532.post-54675474062125315922018-05-15T11:30:34.912+10:002018-05-15T11:30:34.912+10:00Thank you Sir! It seems that many things the Malec Brothers are claiming are difficult to validate for us in North Carolina! I tried looking for their similar plant that they claim to run in Australia and could not find any information on it. We would greatly appreciate your help!
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18182458636129733873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7117623826811744532.post-40589686481598829762018-05-15T02:56:57.184+10:002018-05-15T02:56:57.184+10:00Thank you so much, I live in Delco, thank you for ...Thank you so much, I live in Delco, thank you for this information.
